- This version of Nate only saved Preston and the remaining members of the Minutemen and opted to continue traveling on his own. He currently resides with Dogmeat and Codsworth at the Red Rocket just outside of Sanctuary. He never ends up as General of the Minutemen as a result of this. His goal was simple to find who killed his wife and kidnapped his son.

- Meets with Paladin Danse at the police station and helps fend off the ferals attacking the station, and goes to help the Brotherhood of Steel with obtaining the deep range transmitter. Joins with the Brotherhood of Steel to obtain a set of T-61 power armor. Nate finds himself at odds with Maxsons ideas concerning synths, but grudgingly helps out. He remains with them until he and Maxson come at odds with news of Danse being a synth. He opts to betray them when they target The Railroad. Highest rank achieved, Paladin. And he offers Danse a place to live at his home at The Red Rocket.

- Walks the Freedom Trail where he finally joins and openly agrees to help with the Railroad as an agent. Nate finds that their more open approach and knowledge of The Institute to be more suited to helping him get inside. And eventually he opts to stay with them, and betraying The Brotherhood of Steel. And from his place within the Railroad, Nate is able to work as a double agent working against The Institute to free the synths.

- Finds son and is already uncomfortable with the motives behind The Institute. Nate doesn't join them, but he does what 'Father Shaun' tells him in order to bide time for the synth uprising. And when the time comes, Nate along with members of the Railroad lead a mission into the depths of The Institute to free the synths and to eventually destroy The Institute. Before departing he is met with a synth child by the name of Shaun who he takes with him as they escape.
